But we haven't looked at it. Actually, I think I saw one name. Because I opened up the Instagram and it was right there. And I was like, not yet.

VanessaIf you haven't heard our podcast before, by that we mean she's gonna have to go through and like learn all these artists because she doesn't know half of them or more than half of them.

VanessaNo, I only know like I only know the mint names in the middle, and not even all of them, just like one, two, three, four, five, six.
ClarkThis looks like just like such a dope diversity, though. Because of the names I know, maybe I don't know their music super well, but some of the stuff I'm seeing, it's like there's a lot of cool dance music, but then also like rock bands that are getting really big, but then like some older rock like Geese. I haven't seen Temper Trap on a lineup in a long time. Like that'll be super cool to see them. I haven't heard anything from them in a long, long time.

SunnyThe outside lands reveal episode is always just so disjointed. So all over the place. Even after I've gone through this so slow as we're recording, I'll still see names later that I didn't notice.

VanessaI feel like I haven't really been that excited about Outside Lands Lineup in a while. Not to say that they're not good. I just don't really know a lot of the new artists or people that are doing all the festivals now.
SunnyI feel the same way. I mean, is there a lot of overlap with Bonnaroo here?

ClarkHe's like a British artist, and he does kind of rap stuff, but then does like some electronic kind of music too. Like you'll really like it.
VanessaOkay. I think Modest Mouse will also be at Bonnaroo this year.
ClarkYeah. I'm excited to see them at a festival.
VanessaI think that's also what kind of adds to the not as excited is because it's similar to Bonnaroo. Like a whole lot of not a whole lot of new headliners. I mean, yeah, Charlie XCX, she's not gonna be at Bonaroo.

Who Feels Like A Legend Now
Clarkthink the biggest thing for for us, especially like kind of the the age that we're at too, is like there's kind of this transition period for us of who the legendary acts like who's We're getting old. Who's considered a legendary act is like in a transition right now.
VanessaEmpire of the Sun. They're oh oh is it in a transition?
ClarkLike, I think it's in a transition from when we think about like, well, yeah, it's not gonna be Paul McCartney or Elton John, right? Like of these like old much older generations, right? But that's not to say that the headliners aren't dope. I think the main thing is like for me looking at this lineup, the diversity of genre in it is so sick.
SunnyYeah. The strokes are the legendary act here.
ClarkYeah.
The Strokes Outside Lands Story
ClarkBased on the last time we saw the strokes at Outside Lands, I'm probably gonna see whatever else is out there.
SunnyYeah.
ClarkBecause it was just like a bad vibe.
SunnyIt was right after COVID.
ClarkYes.
VanessaOr yeah, because I went to that one and I remember seeing them.
SunnyHe complained about not being let into a restaurant that day. Because he only had one shot and not two, and people literally turned around and walked away. Like he was not flying well with people at that time.
VanessaI mean, yeah, now that sounds ridiculous, but at the time, yeah,
Sunnyespecially in the Bay Area, like people were taking it serious, you know, and he just came off like he just came off like a dick, you know?
ClarkYeah, it really felt like leaning into the old school like rock badass mentality, but it just felt douchey.
Sunnyyou don't want to protect our city, get out of here.
ClarkYeah, and but besides besides that, in between every single song, oh yeah, he was on the mic, like, hey, like, can it be louder? Why isn't it loud? It just sounded petulant at a certain point. Like, hey, dude, you do this for a living and you're super professional, and you just sound like a spoiled brat, honestly. We're talking so much shit. I mean, whatever. Like, oh, this is gonna get back to the strokes. And then they're never gonna come on here. Yeah, yeah.
VanessaNo, we don't want them on here. They only had one shot. No, I'm just kidding.
ClarkThey sounded great though.
VanessaI bet you when he said that in other places they were cheering, like in the Midwest. They're like, fuck that, yeah. Yeah, exactly.
SunnyI was in San Francisco and I didn't couldn't go to a restaurant because I only had one shot.
ClarkIt was like read the room. Yeah, I think yeah, I'm I'm stoked on this mixture.

More Women On The Poster
ClarkOnly thing I could use more of is female artist.

SunnyYeah. Well, by the time this comes out. What? Yeah, of course. I would go. The only thing that would keep us from going, and this is my worst nightmare, is that one of our friends or family are gonna decide to get married that weekend. Oh, we're gonna have to miss it. Yeah, that is like my worst. My life must be pretty good if this is my worst nightmare.
